Back by popular demand! OVConnect was pleased to offer our second Speed Networking event Thursday, January 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 in the Elm Grove section of Wheeling, WV.

One of the reasons we first formed OVConnect was to make it easier for folks in the Valley to meet one another be it for professional or social reasons. Networking opportunities are also one of the most important functions we can provide to our members, as they often tell us.

That's why we were excited to bring this event back and hope to have another one in the future. If you've never attended a speed networking event before, it works like this:

You sit down at a table with someone directly across from you. You introduce yourselves and let the conversation wander wherever it may for 4 minutes, then ding! All the people on one side of the table move down one seat while folks on the other side stay seated in their original place. Then you talk 4 more more minutes with the new person sitting across from you, ding!, and so on.

Extroverts like it because they get to meet new people, but the introverts REALLY like it because they're forced into meeting a room full of new people, one on one and don't have to worry about how they can break into a conversation or feel intimidated about introducing themselves. It's a total win-win!

In an effort to keep costs down, it was only $1 for members to attend (which won't even help us cover our costs). It' was also very affordable for non-members at just $10 and served as a great introduction to what our group is all about, especially if you had never attended an event before.
