OVConnect is pleased to have once again be partnered with Oglebay's Good Zoo to help them out for their annual Boo at the Zoo event.
Last year, we got together to have a little fun carving up pumpkins. We found out that we have a couple really talented, artistic folks here in the Ohio Valley. We also found out that some of us are better off just spooning out pumpkin seeds and innards. To borrow from Judge Smails, "the world needs pumpkin guts scoopers, too."
Check out some pics from last year (but don't ask who those ladies with the dragon are - we don't know them and none of them sit on our board or other committees. Nope - that's our story):

We did it up '08 style and on two separate nights:
- Wednesday, October 15
- Wednesday, October 22
We sliced and diced pumpkins both nights from 6:00PM - 8:00 PM. If you've never carved pumpkins before, you're an alien. Or a communist. Or an alien communist. Whichever category you fall in, you probably don't realize that carving pumpkins are messy, so no suits or professional dress!
Best of all, it was absolutely free and open to and attended by OVConnect members and non-members alike. We provided pizza, pop, and water. Prizes for the top carvers.
For those of you that got a chance to attend Boo at the Zoo later in the week, you got a real treat seeing all the kids look at the pumpkins that you carved. Some dorks even looked all night for their Nemo pumpkin and had their picture taken with it, presumably to hang on their refrigerator. |
